Travel back in time to New York City (NYC), London, Edinburgh and Linlithgow
The great historic cities of New York City, London and Edinburgh are steeped in stories as these capitals have developed through the centuries. Linlithgow, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots, was a strategic location for the Scottish royals between the Scottish capital and Stirling.
Now you can interact with maps for both these cities and the town, view photographs and archive film showing how these historical locations have changed over the years.
The names of streets may have changed, buildings may have been pulled dowm, but as you will see, life is essentially very much the same as times gone by.
As well as being able to view photographs of times gone by, you can also read historical references, with links to many other websites, where you can find out more.
You'll discover the crimes, innovations, inventions, the rich and the poor, housing, education, film locations and lots more.
The site will be regularly updated with more info and new projects are being prepared for more locations, so be sure to visit regularly.
If you have any old photos and can supply any additional information, please get in touch. A scanned photo of non-printable quality is all that is required.
You will need Google Earth for your browser (Download) and Flash (Download).
